DATA CENTRES
Australian Data Centre

Our Australian servers are located within Pipe Networks DC2, Brisbane. The area is caged to prevent unauthorized access to our equipment. All network equipment and the network are monitored 24/7 to ensure all services remain on-line 24/7. Data Centre Staff are located within the same building to ensure quick and immediate access should anything arise.

The Network is built on purely Cisco equipment ensuring the best network connectivity and reliability. The network itself is redundant with dual load-balanced Cisco 7206 VXR routers either side to prevent a single point of failure. All servers are monitored via Netflow to ensure accurate Bandwidth calculations are made. Live bandwidth monitoring is performed for all servers within our network.

The Network uses 3 carriers to ensure network uptime and stability and Cisco routers to ensure reliability:

Carriers:

 - AAPT Connect - Main Internet Link

 - Pipe IX (QLD Peering)

 - WebCentral (Redundant Link)

All inks are located within the Pipe IX Data Centre to prevent loss of carriage via external sources. Each link has 2 pipes within the Data Centre to prevent any single point of network failure.

US Data Centre

Our US servers are located within The Planet's Data Centres, which are among the best-connected hosting facilities in the world. The Data Centres are implemented through a high-speed network specifically designed for dedicated server hosting. The Planet has invested in both network equipment and backbone connections to ensure that customers get the fastest access possible to their content and applications.

The Data Centre's have multiple network connections to different Internet backbones, allowing data to be distributed though many sources - meaning that network is not dependent upon any single Internet backbone.

The Data Centre's internal network architecture utilizes the Enterprise routing and switching engines from Juniper and Cisco, utilizing Juniper M20 routers as border routers, Cisco 6500 series switches in the distribution layer, Cisco 6500 and 5500 switches in the aggregation layers, and Cisco 3500 and 2900 series switches at the customer layer. The network is fully meshed and redundant with 6 backbone providers.
